Chief Joseph Days returns July 22–27

Feel the thunder of hooves, hear the snap of ropes and the buzz of the rodeo crowd under the Wallowa Mountain stars! Chief Joseph Days is back in Joseph, Ore., July 22–27 for six unforgettable days of Western pride, family fun and high-stakes PRCA Rodeo action.

Named one of the top five medium rodeos in the nation, Chief Joseph Days brings together the best in the business for four nights of adrenaline-filled competition starting July 23 at the Harley Tucker Memorial Arena — named for the rodeo’s founder, who is being inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2025, honoring his lasting impact on the sport and the community.

From saddle-bronc to bull riding, steer wrestling to barrel racing, every night is packed with edge-of-your-seat action as top PRCA athletes compete for their shot at the National Finals Rodeo.

The celebration, named for famous Wallowa leader Chief Joseph, begins Tuesday with the Bucking Horse Stampede down Main Street. Family Night is Wednesday, when kids ages six and under get in free and the mutton-bustin’ always brings big cheers. Don’t miss the return of crowd favorite Loop Rawlins, thrilling with his world-class trick roping, and Matt Merritt, the official entertainer of the 2025 Professional Bull Rider World Finals. They promise nonstop laughs and energy.

When the arena dust settles, the Thunder Room comes alive. On Wednesday, Family Night continues at the Thunder Room with a bounce house, mechanical bull and more. On Thursday, catch the Lowdown Drifters band with their Americana-country sound. And Pendleton’s own Scotty Wilson will keep the party going on Friday and Saturday nights.

Explore among the vendors all weekend, and enjoy Saturday’s Grand Parade and the powerful Nez Perce Friendship Feast — a celebration of culture, heritage and community. On Sunday, join your friends for the Cowboy Church.
