There’s no better time to enjoy a Columbia Gorge vacation than county fair season. This year’s Hood River County Fair happens July 23-26 with the theme “”Sew it! Grow it! Show it!” It’ll be loaded with exhibits, entertainment and family-friendly fun. The venue is just south of Hood River in the community of Odell, with stunning views of Mount Hood.
A Friday-night concert will feature Latin entertainment including Banda Zeta, whose song “La Niña Fresa” topped the charts in both the U.S. and Mexico. Also popular was their cover in Spanish of the famous Eagles song, “Hotel California.”
Headlining on Saturday night is rising country-music star Drew Baldridge. His single “Tough People” shared his message of resilience and surged into the top 10 on country radio, following the success of his first number-one single, “She’s Somebody’s Daughter.”
Daily fun at the fair will include entertainment by Godfrey the Musician, a Davis Shows carnival, pony rides, a dog show, mutton-bustin’ and much more.
To get to the fair, travel on I-84 to Hood River exit 64, then proceed south on State Highway 35 to the Odell junction. Follow the signs to the fairgrounds.
