Little Theatre presents hilarious comedy The Nerd

The Little Theatre of Walla Walla will present The Nerd as the final show of its 2024-25 season. It’s a comedy written by Larry Shue and directed by Kevin Loomer with directing assistance from Eileen Settle.

The character Willum has often told his friends about a debt he owes to Rick, a fellow ex-GI who saved his life in Vietnam. He has written to Rick that, as long as he is alive, “you will have somebody who will do anything for you.”

Willum is delighted when Rick shows up at his birthday party. But delight soon fades as it appears that Rick is a hopeless nerd. Following one uproarious incident after another, a dire development is happily staved off by a surprising twist ending.

Nathan Loomer plays the role of Willum, Lola Bloom portrays Tansy, Tyson Kaup is Axel, Anthony Ochoa is Warnock, Sydney Cox is Clelia, Klays Kaup is Thor, and Daniel Wuest plays the part of Rick.

Evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. on May 30 and 31 and June 6, 7, 13 and 14. Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. on June 8 and 15. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and will be on sale starting May 12 at ltww.org.
