Capitol Best 2024-25 Season Offers Unforgettable Nights

Next season’s Capitol Best series at the Capitol Theatre in Yakima celebrates classic works with new interpretations. It starts in October with Pilobolus, a rebellious dance company testing the limits of physicality and creativity since 1971. The group’s re:CREATION tour showcases the movement and magic that defines them as one of today’s most engaging dance ensembles.

Shrek returns in November. Based on a 1990s children’s book and the 2001 DreamWorks animated film, the 2008 Broadway adaptation wins the hearts of audiences of all ages.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: the Musical arrives just in time for the holidays. Based on the 1964 animated special, the story speaks to the misfit in all of us.

December also brings Hadestown. Dominating Broadway since 2019, it won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. This reinterpreted Greek myth takes us on a ride literally to hell and back.

In February, it’s the 1924 comic strip turned 1977 Broadway musical Annie. The show won six Tonys, including Best Musical, and it showcases some of Broadway’s most familiar songs.

First popular as a 1964 TV series, the 2010 Broadway quirky adaptation of The Addams Family closes out the season in June.
