Capitol Theatre Hosts Two Great Shows This Month

At the Capitol Theatre in Yakima, this season’s Capitol Best Series opens with two extraordinary productions in the same week in mid-October. As distinctly different as they are, they both showcase creative excellence.

Pilobolus is a rebellious dance company. Since 1971, Pilobolus has tested the limits of human physicality to explore the beauty and power of connected bodies. Their “re:CREATION” tour brings together dynamic dance pieces including daring experiments at the forefront of innovation along with classics that have altered the landscape of dance and theater. These timeless performances will take the stage on Oct. 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Broadway’s Come From Away has been a smash-hit musical all across North America. The story takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships. It’s based on actual events that took place on Sept. 11, 2001 and the days that followed.

Back by popular demand, these performances are Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. For tickets and information, visit capitoltheatre.org.
