Capitol Theatre in Yakima Presents February Events

The Capitol Theatre in Yakima welcomes Twincussion for a week-long residency culminating in a public performance on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m. It’ presented as part of the Capitol’s multi-year work with Center Stage, a program sponsored by the U.S. State Department.

The charismatic rising stars Jen-Ting and Jen-Yu Chien are twin brothers who make up the internationally acclaimed percussion duo Twincussion. As advocates for Taiwanese folk music, arrangers of Western classical showpieces, and champions of contemporary composers, their exciting programs connect the music of East and West.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m., enjoy an even more global musical experience. The landmark Emmy Award-winning Netflix documentary series “Our Planet” is now a live concert event. The eight-part series has been reimagined as a breathtaking two-hour live show filled with beautiful visuals and sound effects, all accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra.

Renowned naturalist David Attenborough and actor William Shatner recorded the narration for this sweeping tour of Earth’s natural diversity, exploring how climate change is affecting different species’ efforts to survive. “Our Planet Live in Concert” brings you the beauty of our planet in an immersive journey across the globe!
