It’s Science, But Make it a Circus!
- November 2, 2023
The Gesa Power House Theatre in Walla Walla will present the Circus Science Spectacular at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12. This show is sponsored by Walla Walla Valley Honda, AAUW Walla Walla, United Way of the Blue Mountains and the Milton-Freewater Area Foundation.
This entertaining and educational offering uses the magical world of circus to teach concepts such as forces and motion, simple machines, matter, air power, chemical reactions and other science lessons. Audiences of all ages alternate between laughter and amazement as science and circus combine.
The Circus Science Spectacular originated through a partnership with professional educators. Steve Russell and Kobi Shaw worked with teachers in classroom settings, incorporating circus arts in the instruction. All of the content is researched and tried, supporting actual scientific concepts.
Trained by Ringling Brothers Circus, Russell and Shaw developed skills in comedy, juggling, magic and balancing, and they bring novelty, surprise and fun to the mix. So, step right up! The Circus Science Spectacular is your ticket to science fun.
The show will run about an hour without intermission.
Reserved seating tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youth 12 and under. They are available online at phtww.org or by calling the box office at (509) 529-6500.
