Little Theatre Outlines Upcoming Season

The Little Theatre of Walla Walla will open its 2023-2024 season with the musical comedy Legally Blonde, The Musical, directed by Sarah Thompson and Stacie Trego. The story of Elle Woods tackling stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams opens on Oct. 27, with 10 performances through Nov. 18.

In the drama Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne, in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, keeps hope alive by using wit and forging friendships. Directed by Jeff Schlicher and Gene Dahl, performances are scheduled from Jan. 19 through Feb. 4.

The third show turns Pride and Prejudice into a romantic farce — definitely not your grandmother’s Jane Austin! Directed by Carol Anselmo and Al Chang, this bold, surprising, boisterous and timely show explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match. Performances are March 15-31.

The final show of the season, Next to Normal, is a musical drama directed by Brian Hatley, opening on May 10 and closing June 1. Dad, mom, daughter and son seem like the typical family. But the mother battles bipolar disorder, and the story takes you into the minds of each character with love, sympathy, and heart.

The Little Theatre is at 1130 E. Sumach St. Visit for more information.
