Magic Beans is Coming to Richland – Nov. 17-19, 2022

Following a world premiere in Prosser last March, the Tri-Cities debut of the Magic Beans stage show will be held this month at the Uptown Theatre in Richland. It’s the latest creation of long-time Tri-Cities children’s music artist Eric Herman, and it’s been described as “a musical, theatrical, magical, and beanical family experience.”

Eric Herman has been performing for Tri-Cities children since 2004. Featuring his eclectic music and characters, along with his Puppy Dogs band and the acrobatic hula-hooping of Ellensburg’s Hillia Hula, Magic Beans also includes video projections and interlude scenes. The Richland production will top the previous one in terms of its video imagery and special effects, with Herman promising “12 percent more magic,” and “freaky laser stuff.”

“We are asking the question of what it means to exist,” said Herman. “And answering that in some really fun ways, with music and comedy and visuals.” He recommends the show for ages 4 to 99, joking that it’s “not recommended for 100-plus.”

Performances of Magic Beans include two for area elementary schools. Public shows are on Nov. 17, 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. and a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. on the 19th.
