Othello PRCA Rodeo – Sept. 16-17, 2022

Othello Offers Amazing Small-Town Rodeo

“It’s not the biggest, just one of the best.” That’s how members of the Othello Rodeo Association describe their annual PRCA rodeo. This year’s rodeo on Friday and Saturday, Sept 16 and 17, will be the 73rd in its colorful history.

The week’s events begin on Wednesday the 14th with a Demolition Derby starting at 5:30 p.m. In addition to trophies, new cash payouts range from $1,000 for third place to $3,000 for first place. All drivers will receive a free dinner and a chance to win a Crown Victoria demo prospect.

On Friday, the rodeo action begins at 8 p.m. with the Grand Entry and the famous Wild Cow Ride. Events include bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, roping events including team, tie-down and breakaway, plus bull-riding and barrel racing.

Entertainer JJ Harrison will keep audiences laughing and the contestants safe. Bullfighters Dangerous Danny Newman and Miles Barry will put themselves between the bulls and the cowboys. Flying Five Big Bend will supply the rodeo stock. Announcer Steve Kenyon will offer depth and color rooted in his 25-plus years of experience. And Bert Davis will entertain at halftime with his signature rescue dogs that do amazing tricks.
