Get ready for spine-tingling fun at the 2024 Othello Straw Maze, proudly sponsored by the Othello Rodeo Association. Every year the maze is a brand-new challenge, providing a haunting experience for everyone with character actors who are hand-picked and trained to bring out the best shrieks. Starting Oct. 4, the maze will be open every Friday and Saturday night and on Halloween, Oct. 31, at the Othello Rodeo Grounds.
Unique to this straw maze is the outdoor theater, which plays all the classic scary movies from the original Dracula and Frankenstein movies to slightly more modern movies and cartoons. Watch your favorite Halloween movie while you wait your turn in the maze.
The cost is $15 per person, and kids 6 and under are admitted free with an adult. When you find your way out of the maze you will be greeted with complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn.
This is a family adventure for everyone. Non-scare times are 6 to 7 p.m. And from 7 to 10, buckle up because that’s scary time! Enjoy the “special haunted rooms” in the maze, including the bone room, doll house, cemetery, spider nest and snake den. And no maze would be complete without a chainsaw or two!
