Quincy Farmer Consumer Awareness Day – Sept 10, 2022

Farmer Consumer Awareness Day, also known as FCAD, takes place in Quincy, Washington, every year on the second Saturday in September. Since 1981 this all-day event has the goal of educating people about where their food comes from.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture tells us that one U.S. farm feeds 166 people annually in the U.S. and abroad. With the projected population increase farmers will have to grow about 70 percent more food than what is now produced.

The FCAD festivities include a variety of longstanding and popular events: a fresh produce sale, a car show, tractor pulls, tours of area crops and geology, a memorial service at the Quincy Valley Veterans Memorial Wall and a grand parade.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, FCAD will begin with the Ben Horning Memorial Run at 7 a.m. There are numerous food options with all kinds of fun treats. The day will have various vendors, musical artists and a quilt show on display.

Most of the activities will revolve around the campus of Quincy Middle School on 6th Ave. SE in Quincy. For a full FCAD schedule, scan the code in our ad on this page.

The community of Quincy invites you to bring the entire family and join the celebration.
