Northwest Entertainment will present singer-songwriter Chayce Beckham in concert on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Pendleton Convention Center.
Beckham rose to fame after winning the 19th season of the reality show “American Idol” in 2021. He performed “23,” a song he wrote the year before about his own life at the time, and that performance made him the first “Idol” contestant to win with an original song. Released as a single after the show, it reached No. 1 on the iTunes Country and All Genres charts and is the lead single on his “Bad for Me” album. The bluesy and brutally honest hit single earned him a nomination last spring for CMT Breakthrough Male Video of the Year.
Beckham was born in Victorville and spent his childhood in California. After graduating from high school in Glendora in 2014, he worked as a heavy machinery operator and formed a reggae band called the Sinking Sailors when he was 19. He cites Jim Morrison, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., and Hank Williams Sr. as his musical influences.
