Scout Durwood Show Features Comedy, Music

Gesa Power House Theatre in Walla Walla will welcome comedian, singer and actor Scout Durwood for a two-night spectacular event of film and live entertainment. Starting Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m., you’ll enjoy a screening of Durwood’s short film, “Take One Thing Off.” Then, on Saturday, March 15, at 7 p.m., she’ll perform live on the Gesa Power House stage.

Featuring 11 comedy vignettes paired with original music videos from Durwood’s debut studio album, the film follows the life of chanteuse/bon vivant Scout Durwood. She has spent most of her adult life singing in New York supper clubs and dive bars, fostering a meaningful connection between audience and performer. Now living in Los Angeles, she’s stepping onto the biggest, strangest stage of all — the Internet.

Her live stage performance combines comedy, music, storytelling and cabaret and includes hits from “Take One Thing Off” and “Comedy Electronica” such as “(I Don’t Want to) Hold Ur Baby,” “Sexually Implicit,” and “Steal Ur Girlfriend.”

Inspired by her formative years as a go-go dancer and burlesque emcee, Scout Durwood’s joyfully irreverent outlook on life embraces what she calls “big tent queerness” as a way of spreading love and unity.
