The Acting Company Adds Contemporary Spin to Classics at The Capitol Theatre in Yakima
- February 23, 2023
On Thursday, March 9, in the Capitol Theatre in Yakima, Shakespeare lovers will enjoy a full production of Romeo & Juliet, envisioned and interpreted by The Acting Company (TAC), one of the country’s most acclaimed touring producers of both classical and new plays.
Without changing a word, with purposeful decisions on settings, costuming, music, casting and other factors, this gripping drama spun out of the ancient grudge between two families can reflect the conflicts and divisions of any era.
The Acting Company’s “The Three Musketeers” will be performed on March 10. This production sheds new light on this swashbuckling adventure, giving a favorite story new importance. In his time, author Alexandre Dumas’s success came down to one essential point — that is, his stories were more exciting and more accessible than those of anyone who had gone before him. It will be exciting to look at this well-known work through a new lens — a world premiere adaptation.
Both TAC performances start at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are also on sale now for the April 1 performance of Fiddler on the Roof at 8 p.m. and the matinee performance on April 2 at 2 p.m.
Buy tickets online at capitoltheatre.org or call the box office at (509) 853-ARTS (2787).
