Historic Home Tours in Dayton, WA

The Dayton Historical Depot Society is proud to announce its annual Historic Home Tours, scheduled for Saturday, October 5th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This much-anticipated event offers the unique opportunity to explore some of Dayton’s most historically significant homes, beautifully preserved and filled with rich stories of the town’s past.

Date: Saturday, October 5th, 2024
Location: 222 E. Commercial S., Dayton, WA
Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Tickets: $25 each, or $20 for museum members

The tours this year will feature four prominent homes on the historic register:
The Edwards House on First St.
The Fletcher House on Third St.
The Day/Jackson House on First St.
The John Blessinger House on Third St.
Additionally, both the Historic Depot Museum and the Boldman House Museum will open their doors for guided tours, offering a deep dive into Dayton’s vibrant history.

Event Highlights:
Ticket Prices: $20 for members of the Dayton Historical Depot Society and $25 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Historic Depot Museum or on the day of the event.

Depot Courtyard Art Sale: The Blue Mountain Artists Guild will display and sell their artwork in the Depot courtyard during the event.
Living History Performance: From 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM inside the Historic Depot Museum, a storyteller visiting from the past will bring to life the tale of Starbuck’s Marshal Jim “Pussyfoot” Smith, whose good deed in October 1928 took a dramatic turn.
Museum Hours: The Historic Depot and Boldman House Museums will be open to the public from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Historic Home Tours offer a rare opportunity to step inside homes filled with unique architecture and history, while supporting the preservation efforts of Dayton’s historic treasures.

About the Dayton Historic Depot Museum
The Dayton Historic Depot is the oldest standing train depot in Washington State. Dayton Historical Depot Society is dedicated to preserving and utilizing the Dayton Historic Depot and Boldman House to educate the community about local history. These sites will also be valuable resources for the community.
