Othello Straw Maze is a Halloween Tradition

Get ready for spine-tingling fun at the 2025 Othello Straw Maze, sponsored by the Othello Rodeo Association. Starting Oct. 10, the maze will be open every Friday and Saturday through Nov. 1.

About a thousand straw bales form the maze, and it’s redesigned each year to deliver a fresh challenge, complete with live character actors trained to spook and entertain. From 6 to 7 p.m., your family can enjoy a non-scare hour perfect for younger children. After 7 p.m., the maze transforms into a haunted labyrinth featuring themed rooms like the doll house, the cemetery, the spider’s nest, bone room and snake den — plus the unmistakable roar of chainsaws.

Unique to Othello’s maze is its outdoor theater, where classic horror films and Halloween cartoons are screened for free while you wait your turn. From Dracula to Frankenstein movies, the lineup offers something for every age.

Admission is $15 per person, with children ages six and under admitted free with a paying adult. Upon escaping the maze, you’ll be rewarded with complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn.

Whether you’re in it to be scared or for the seasonal cheer, the Othello Straw Maze is a must-visit event that blends frightful fun with family-friendly festivities. Visit othellorodeo.com and click on “events.”
