‘Over the Barrel’ is a unique wine, culinary, music experience

Get ready, Yakima Valley and Mid-Columbia! This is the event that was worth waiting for, with unlimited tastings, incredible food and live music in an unforgettable one-day celebration.
On Saturday, May 9, “Over the Barrel – A Wine, Culinary & Music Experience” will bring together the very best of Washington wines, Central Washington cuisine and live music for an all-day celebration of flavor, culture and community.

Imagine this: unlimited tastings from more than 20 premier Washington wineries, small bites crafted by talented chefs from throughout Central Washington, and live music filling the air from start to finish. It’s a sensory experience designed to delight, connect and inspire.

Something for everyone
Hosted in partnership by the Junior League of Yakima and the Seasons Music Project, this inaugural event is poised to become one of the region’s most anticipated annual celebrations. You can sip bold reds, crisp whites and innovative varietals while enjoying savory culinary creations that highlight the rich agricultural bounty of our region. Throughout the day, vibrant live performances curated by the Seasons Music Project will create an energetic, welcoming atmosphere that keeps the celebration flowing.

And that’s just the beginning. A raffle and an exclusive VIP experience will add even more excitement to an already dynamic event. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, foodie, music lover or simply someone who believes in supporting local causes, Over the Barrel offers something for everyone.

For the community
But this event is about more than exceptional wine and unforgettable flavors. Proceeds from Over the Barrel will directly benefit initiatives within both partnering organizations, impacting individuals and programs across the Tri-Cities, Yakima and throughout Central Washington.

For the Junior League of Yakima, founded in 1934, this event supports its mission to advance women’s leadership and empower girls through volunteer action, collaboration and training. For decades, the Junior League has responded to evolving community needs by developing programs that strengthen families, cultivate young leaders, and improve the lives of women and children throughout the valley. The league is committed to creating new opportunities for young women though its program called “Girls Initiative: Empowering Girls — Inspiring Leaders.”

For the Seasons Music Project (formerly the Seasons Performance Hall), Over the Barrel represents an exciting new era. Following the sale of its historic performance hall earlier this year, the organization has moved away from a single dedicated venue to a “travelling” model, hosting concerts and events across different locations in Central Washington. The Seasons is embracing a bold mission — to enrich the cultural life of the Yakima Valley by presenting vibrant live performances, supporting artists through grants, and fostering community through accessible and innovative music experiences across the region. This event fuels that work by bringing music to new venues, uplifting diverse voices and investing directly in creative programming.
Together, these two organizations are uniting leadership, service and artistry to create an experience that doesn’t just celebrate our region but also strengthens it.
