Tri City Quilters Guild Hosts Quilt Show in March

The Tri City Quilters Guild will host its 42nd Quilt Show March 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.

The show will feature about 400 quilts, plus a raffle, a Merchant Mall and “Challenge Quilts.” Guild members were challenged to “celebrate the semiquincentennial,” inspired by our country’s 250th birthday.

The theme for the show is “Every Quilt Tells a Story.” A collection of small quilts will be raffled off individually and will be displayed at the entry to the show.

This year’s Guest Artist is Robin Long of Ritzville, who has an innovative method of creating mariner’s compass quilts. Using templates she created, and with amazing use of color and fabrics, she creates out-of-the-box designs using the mariner’s compass theme. Her online company is robinruthdesign.com.

The featured Member Artist is Linda Weir, a talented quilter who has a modern style of both piecing and quilting. She is influenced by Japanese style and modern applications, and is accomplished at Sashiko and Boro as well as ruler quilting.

Guild members are looking forward to sharing their love of creativity through fabric designs and quilts. Your $12 entry fee is good for both days.
