The hits keep coming at the Capitol Theatre in Yakima. For its next Capitol Best 2026-27 season presentation, the theatre welcomes the all-time classic favorite, Meredith Willson’s The Music Man. Performances will be on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 11 and 12, at 7:30 p.m.
The original 1957 Broadway production of The Music Man ran for 1,375 performances and won five Tony Awards, beating out West Side Story for Best Musical and awarding both Robert Preston (Best Actor in a Musical for the role of Harold Hill) and Barbara Cook (Best Actress in a Featured Role – Musical for playing Marian Paroo). The Broadway production also inspired a movie adaptation that won an Oscar for Best Scoring of Music and was nominated in several other categories.
The current tour coming to Yakima is built from the highly acclaimed 2022 Broadway revival that featured Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster in the lead roles.
