Fort Walla Walla’s Pioneer Village is Open

All 17 buildings in the Pioneer Village at Fort Walla Walla Museum will be open in May. They include outfitted pioneer-era cabins, a schoolhouse, playhouses, shops and homesteads.

Sundays in May and June are special. The Living History troupe has its characters in costume, primed to tell their stories and answer your questions. The cameos start at 2 p.m. in the Pioneer Village, and seating is provided. On May 19, Matilda Sager Delaney, survivor of the Whitman Massacre, will be portrayed by Susan Matley. On May 26, Gary Lentz plays the role of historical naturalist John Gray.
