Capitol Theatre Hosts Margaret Cho & Cher Tribute in May

In a few weeks the Capitol Theatre in Yakima will announce the 2024-25 Capitol Best Series. Until then, there are still some heavy hitters coming to the Capitol.

The comedian, musician and actor Margaret Cho has been named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s “50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time.” Vogue Magazine included her among the top nine female comedians of all time. Her LIVE & Livid Comedy Tour hits the Capitol Theatre stage on Thursday, May 2, for one night only starting at 7:30 p.m. This is a Capitol Theatre special event for a mature audience only.

The Cher Show finishes the Capitol Best series this season on Thursday and Friday, May 16 and 17, with performances at 7:30 p.m. Cher is an entertainment icon so unique that it takes three separate actresses to portray her through the distinct eras of her career. For six straight decades, she has flat-out dominated popular culture — breaking down barriers, pushing boundaries and letting no one stand in her way. This production displays all the glitz and glamor you would expect and a song list spanning her impressive chart-topping success for six decades.

Looking ahead to next fall, the Capitol will present “An Evening with David Sedaris” on Nov. 20, and you can book your attendance online now. He is a master of satire, beloved for his personal essays and short stories, and the author of several instant bestsellers.

Tickets to shows are on sale online at capitoltheatre.org and at the box office at (509) 853-ARTS. The theatre is at 19 S. Third Street in Yakima.

You can experience the theatre beyond the stage by joining Capitol Friends. With your membership you gain access to exclusive perks like ticket pre-sales, VIP entry, early show admissions, private events and celebrations, special drink pricing, volunteer opportunities and more.
