Country-music star Jake Owen will take the stage at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee on July 23.
Jake is a singing and songwriting sensation whose career has included gold and platinum records, 10 number-one singles and more than 2.5 billion U.S. on-demand streams. He’s known for his laid-back style and hit recordings such as “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” “Beachin’,” “Anywhere With You,” “Alone With You” and “The One That Got Away.” He has released nine albums, headlined global tours, and appeared with Casey Affleck in the 2019 movie Our Friend. In 2024 he shared the stage with Dan + Shay in “The Heartbreak on the Map” tour.”
When he was a boy in Vero Beach, Fla., Jake would sit on the porch and listen to country tunes by Hank Williams Jr. and Merle Haggard. While recovering from a sports injury, he borrowed a neighbor’s guitar and began to teach himself to play. After seeing a guitarist perform at a bar, he asked the owner if he could play a gig. He became a regular performer there and soon took up writing his own material.
His newest album, “Dreams to Dream,” displays Jake’s easy, familiar and comfortable style. Creating it was a deeply personal project that marks his first independently released full-length album. It includes the title cut plus “Them Old Love Songs” featuring Savannah Conley, “Long Time Lovin’ You,” “Fool Like Me” and others. At the emotional center of the record is “Wouldn’t Be Gone,” in which Jake imagines an alternate life away from the road.
In 2010, Owen founded a nonprofit charity that has raised more than $8.5 million. Initially intended to offer financial support on a national level to children battling cancer, it now provides assistance to various youth organizations. He performs at an annual event called the Jake Owen Foundation Weekend to raise money for the foundation.
