“Our Autism Journey – Better Together” Event and Ceremonial Walk

The Tri-Cities Autism Coalition is thrilled to announce the inaugural “Our Autism Journey – Better Together” Event and Ceremonial Walk, a unique community initiative aimed at fostering awareness, inclusivity, and support for individuals and families affected by Autism in the greater Tri-Cities area. The event will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Benton Franklin Fairgrounds.

Autism affects an estimated 1 in 36 children in the US, and the number of diagnoses in our region has significantly increased. Families often find themselves navigating a complex system of diagnostics, treatments, therapies, and educational tools, leading to isolation. The “Our Autism Journey – Better Together” Event seeks to address these needs by providing a platform for education, connection, and community support.

The event schedule is as follows:

Journey Experience: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Details: Interactive exhibits, “Ted Talks,” and learning experiences led by professionals to provide valuable insights into Autism, diagnosis, therapies, resources, positives, and challenges.

Walk/Run/Roll for Autism: 12:30 pm
Details: Join us in a 1/2 mile walk within the Benton County Fairgrounds to celebrate Autism Awareness Month, promote acceptance, and support individuals and their families.

In addition to the activities, we are actively seeking sponsorships to make this event a success. As the only event of its kind in the Tri-Cities region, we anticipate up to 2,000 participants, presenting a valuable opportunity for organizations to support families in need. We are also inviting Recruiting Exhibitor Partners to join our “Better Together Journey.” Non-profits and community partners can promote their goods and services free of vendor fees. We believe that by working together, we can create an impactful experience that educates individuals about Autism and available services.
